The Indiana University Sociology Lab conducts research on a wide variety of topics, including group conflict and cooperation, social dilemmas and public goods problems, collective action, cognitive bias, and organizational behavior.
Indiana University has a long history of experimental work in Social Psychology. Some of the earliest documented laboratory experiments were conducted in the late 1800s by Norman Triplett, then a Psychology Professor at IU.
The Sociology Lab is located in Ballantine Hall. Our facility includes a waiting room, a group interaction room, and a computer-mediated interaction room with networked computers in individual cubicles.
